Have you spent too much time in the office this week and need to live out your wildest dreams of being Bruce Wayne? Head out to Maquoketa Cave state park were there’s 6 miles of well maintained trails with plenty of caves for the whole family to enjoy! Don’t worry, its completely dog friendly. Thor had a blast splashing through the caves.

Before hitting the trails, grab yourself a map at the trail head, the trails towards the south end can get confusing. The trail starts you out with a coupe stair cases down to the mouth of the largest cave in the park. This is a popular park so do not be surprised if you get stuck in a traffic jam at the entrance. The trail forks at the entrance to the cave, the trail to the left spends more time in the cave than the trail to the right. If you bring the dog or a little one, the trail to the right is a good introduction to caves.

The park has more than just aves to offer. The trail winds through several different rock features including arch ways and balancing rocks.

For the avid hiker, there are several decent inclines with amazing views. There is something at Maquoketa for all adventure levels!
